From Citizen’s Council For Health Care Freedom:
Feds Will Soon Sell Your Health Data
A new Obamacare rule allows the sale of data collected from federal health care programs. Organizations with a recent “established patient relationship” can buy data with the person’s name attached. Other groups get only de-identified data (which is not anonymized and may allow reidentification). If health insurers want the federal data, they must submit data on most of their non-government enrollees (employees, children, privately insured) to the data pool. The grand purpose: to control your doctor. They call it “performance improvement.”
