The True Value of Time in the Physician/Patient Relationship

This is something we have been saying for years.  It is great to see that it is being studied and proven!  This is a big part of why we are now a Direct Primary Care Practice.

The True Value of Time in the Physician/Patient Relationship

A study has revealed how longer time spent between physicians and patients directly correlates to a higher level of patient symptom improvement. “The results of this study provide unique preliminary data on the importance of the patient–physician relationship, an ingredient in health care that is often overlooked,” says Gloria Yeh, MD, MPH. In an era of limited face-to-face time at the doctor’s office, the increase in mandated paperwork (e.g. quality reporting, ICD-10 coding, electronic health records mandate) threatens to harm the patient’s ability to heal.
